Master of Applied Information Technology (NMIT) is designed for the students, who are passionate about cutting edge technology and its applications in responding the enormous career possibilities in IT. The hands-on practical classes offer the chance to develop and enhance the skills shaped out of theory. NMIT provides the flexibility through blended learning including both face-to-face and online learning activity as flip classes.

ACS and Delloite jointly reflect, in Australia’s Digital Pulse, the ICT skill shortage pointing to enormous career opportunities. They forecast a growth of the contribution of digital technologies to the Australian economy up to $139 billion by 2020. Demand for ICT workers is therefore forecast to increase in the future and Australia’s ICT workforce is expected to increase to around 695,000 ICT workers by 2020.

NMIT is professionally accredited by Australian Computer Society (ACS) providing graduates an opportunity to assess their ICT occupations as listed on the Skilled Occupations List (SOL). Occupation skill assessment will open the door of possibilities for the students to work in Australia’s fastest growing IT industry especially in Melbourne and Sydney, which are ranked as one of the top tech cities in the world.

NMIT offers students an opportunity to do either in-house industry project under simulated environment or extensive research activities pathway to enter Higher Degree (PhD) by research. The discipline also supports industry placement program assisting students to kick-start their career.
